Really happy with these – had to reboard my living room on my own and these made life so much easier. Bit nervous at first as I wasn’t sure how strong they were, but they handled 8ft boards like a champ. Comes with long screws so that’s another bonus – deffo recommend these.

Board Aid began with a home renovation in 2021.

Board Aid is the result of a one man having to plasterboard a ceiling by himself during Lockdown – without the help of his co-worker who was unwell, he found that the traditional methods of using a ‘deadman’ too frustrating, a board lift too cumbersome, and fashioning wooden ‘ledges’ out of scrap timber too time-consuming – this is when the idea for Board Aid was conceived.  

After discovering how difficult ceiling boarding could be without specialist equipment, the idea was born to create a simpler alternative that anyone could use.

What started as sketches, home made prototypes gradually evolved over 5 years through testing and refinement into the product available today.

The aim has always remained the same - design a straightforward tool that solves the problem of installing ceiling plasterboard with greater control and less frustration.
